About 40% Consumers Plans To Purchase From D2C Retailers In Festive Season: Report

According to the survey, consumer confidence is still high because 41 per cent of participants stated they have significant online shopping plans for this holiday season

About 40 per cent of consumers nationwide have indicated that they plan to shop online with Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) retailers, according to a Simpl survey. The increase in interest from customers can be ascribed to the growing number of people who have been using D2C merchants in recent years to satisfy their changing needs.

According to the survey, consumer confidence is still high because 41 per cent of participants stated they have significant online shopping plans for this holiday season. Of these, 33 per cent intend to buy clothing and accessories, 23 per cent will buy travel, and 11 per cent will buy personal care items.

Simpl conducted a survey to obtain information about consumers’ plans for festive purchases in order to assess consumer sentiment during the holiday season. Consumer electronics and food and drink were two other popular categories that respondents intended to spend money on.

The bulk of responses came from Gen Y and millennials who expressed a strong preference for festive online shopping, especially from direct-to-consumer (D2C) merchants, in order to meet their particular and distinct needs.

According to a separate Simpl survey of hundreds of retailers nationwide, nearly 70 per cent of D2C retailers anticipate a 2 to 4 times spike in sales over the holiday season. According to the survey, these retailers are significantly expanding their manufacturing and warehousing capacities in addition to hiring more staff and spending more money on marketing.

By offering convenience and building consumer trust, Simpl’s network, which is connected to over 26,000 merchants and millions of customers nationwide, has been actively working to empower the D2C merchant landscape in India, the report added.
