AVGC Growing At 9 Percent; Potential To Become The Torchbearer Of Brand India: Piyush Goyal

The AVGC sector is growing by 9 per cent and has the potential to become the torchbearer of “Brand India” and “Make in India” because of the power in the youth of the country, explains Union Minister Piyush Goyal.

The Union Minister said that the Animation, Visual effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector is growing by 9 per cent and is predicted to reach Rs 3 lakh crore by 2024.

He also mentioned that the AVGC sector has the potential to become the torchbearer of “Brand India” and “Create in India” and has the possibility to project India’s creativity globally, he said at the second edition of the CII Summit FX.

He also put forward his view about AVCG channelizing the creative energy of the youth of the country during the pandemic.

India’s animation sector has been on an upward slope as it has also worked with many recognized International animation studios like Warner Bros and DreamWorks. It has also been an active part of many award-winning works. Innovation is what thrives us, but this innovation must also bring growth to the sectors.

Universities can change the educational programs to bring up talent and polish their skills. He wanted the industry to urge skill development and building a sense of competition by applying vocal training and also technical education in this field as India has a lot of talent to cater for the demand for professionals. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi stated that India is the world’s most youthful nation. A nation with such potential cannot look down. He said that the youth will unleash a new age of creativity. He also urged the need for all stakeholders to come together to grow India’s AVGC sector.
