Nupower has also been labeled as an accused in the FIR
Earlier today, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested former ICICI Bank CEO Chanda Kochhar and her husband Deepak Kochhar in the fraud loan fraud case involving Videocon Group. The couple has been charged under a loan fraud case involving ICICI Bank and the Videocon Group back in 2012, under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
It is alleged that Videocon promoter Venugopal Dhoot allegedly invested crores of rupees in Nupower Renewables months after the Videocon Group got INR 3,250 crore as a loan from ICICI Bank in 2012. It was alleged that Kochhar sanctioned certain loans to private companies in a criminal conspiracy with others to cheat ICICI Bank. Nupower has also been labeled as an accused in the FIR.
