Citi Announces Jeegar Shah As Chief Financial Officer For India
Citi appoints Jeegar Shah as CFO for India, effective June 1, 2024. With nearly 20 years of finance experience, he will lead financial strategy and report to Mui-Eng Teo
Jeegar Shah has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Citi’s India franchise, effective June 1, 2024,. With nearly 20 years of experience in various finance roles, Jeegar will lead Citi’s financial strategy and drive growth in India, reporting directly to Mui-Eng Teo, CFO for Citi’s Asia South Cluster.
Jeegar, who has been serving as Interim CFO for India since February 2024, will be the primary contact for all financial matters in India. He will also provide strategic financial management support to Ashu Khullar, Citi Country Officer for India and Head of Banking for the Indian Subcontinent.
Jeegar’s extensive experience includes financial and regulatory reporting, audits, regulatory examinations and strategic finance initiatives across Citi’s businesses. He is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and holds a master’s degree in commerce from the University of Mumbai.
Before his interim CFO role, Jeegar served as the Cluster Controller for Citi’s South Asia Cluster. In his new position as India CFO, Jeegar will continue to report to Mui-Eng Teo.
