Delhi Favors Switch To Electric Mobility: Survey

The survey also reveals that 80 per cent of the respondents are in agreement that a switch to EVs by delivery companies is important for tackling air pollution crisis

As per a survey conducted by Sustainable Mobility Network and other social organisations, Delhi consumers are in strong support of for the proposed aggregator scheme of the city government which requires a time-bound transition to electric vehicles by last-mile delivery and e-commerce companies.

The proposed scheme is speculated to be enforced by April 30, 2030, following which we can expect complete transition of Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) to electric vehicles (EV). This change will be palpable mainly among among  service providers, including e-commerce, delivery and transport logistics.

The survey was conducted among 9048 consumers, out of which 1500 were from Delhi. The result shows that 80 per cent of the respondents in Delhi attributed last-mile delivery vehicles as one of the reasons for rising air pollution in the city.
