AI/ML Engineers and BPO Executives Dominate Job Growth
The demand for Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning engineers (AI/ML) has surged by 433 per cent, reflecting the growing reliance on artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies across various sectors. BPO executives follow closely with a 314 per cent increase, underscoring the continued expansion of the outsourcing and customer service industries. These two roles, though vastly different in skill requirements, are driving significant employment growth at both ends of the skill spectrum. AI/ML engineers represent highly specialised, technical positions, while BPO executives are indicative of the robust demand for more generalised, customer-oriented roles. From January 2022 to June 2024, the top five job roles with the highest percentage increase are AI/ML Engineer at 433 per cent, BPO Executive at 313 per cent, Receptionist at 309 per cent, Travel Consultant at 284 per cent, and Electrician at 258 per cent. During the same period, the fastest-growing sectors are Sanitation with a 159 per cent increase, Construction with a 121 per cent increase, Therapy with a 102 per cent increase, Education with a 96 per cent increase, and Medical with a 91 per cent increase.
