India’s Application Software Spending To Grow 15% In 2022: Report

The latest report from Gartner elucidates on user spending on enterprise spending on enterprise application software. The spending is slated to increase by 14.8 per cent to USD 4.7 billion in 2022

A new report says that the end-user spending on enterprise application software in India is going to grow by 14.8 per cent in 2022 since last year. The latest report from Gartner elucidates on user spending on enterprise spending on enterprise application software. The spending is slated to increase by 14.8 per cent to USD 4.7 billion in 2022.

“Driven by the digital transformation agenda, Indian enterprises will continue to expand the share of software spending in their broader IT spending. Organizations are increasingly relying on software to operate all aspects of business,” said Neha Gupta, vice president analyst at Gartner.

But the report says the growth in software spending will be overall lower than it was in 2021. This will be due to the volatility in the macroeconomic situation globally which will affect business uncertainty. Businesses are favouring “quick win” projects and avoiding/putting a hold on long-term projects to obtain shorter ROI or competitive edge.

The Gartner report emphasises that Indian businesses will look to increase their spend on email and authoring and content services to continue to support collaboration and remote/hybrid work.
