IT Department May Start Drive To Quicken Refunds: Reports

Nitin Gupta, the chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes, had said stated earlier this month that authorities wish prompt deposits of the reimbursements into the taxpayers’ legitimate bank accounts and the government was “in correspondence” with these stuck-refund taxpayers

The Income Tax (IT) department is considering organising campaigns to help the taxpayers in light of the 3.5 million tax refund cases that are held up, in addition to actively seeking other methods to expedite the refunds, according to various media reports.

When the process was manual, it wasn’t always easy to process I-T refunds. The department switched to issuing returns electronically in 2011 to streamline the procedure.

Nitin Gupta, the chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes, had said stated earlier this month that authorities wish prompt deposits of the reimbursements into the taxpayers’ legitimate bank accounts and the government was “in correspondence” with these stuck-refund taxpayers.

For all of these situations where reimbursements are delayed for a variety of reasons, the department developed a unique demand management facilitation system approximately a year ago. A call from a specific number will be made three days after the email is sent, and after this talk, the problems will be fixed, according to an email sent to the taxpayer, the reports from media stated.
