Rs 67,400 crore worth Income Tax Refunds were issued to more than 23.99 lakh taxpayers in 5 months of this fiscal year
The Income Tax Department said that it has issued Rs 67,400 worth refund in five months of the current fiscal. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) issues refunds of over Rs 67,400 crore to more than 23.99 lakh taxpayers between 1st April,2021 to 30th august, 2021, the I-T department tweeted. Out of these, 22.61 lakh cases have registered income tax refunds of Rs 16,373 crores and 1.37 lakh cases have registered corporate tax refunds of Rs 51,029 crores.
