Musk Takes Over Twitter, Fires CEO, CFO and Others: Reports

With the completion USD 44 billion deal and Elon Musk taking over Twitter, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Twitter Parag Agrawal and chief financial officer (CFO) Ned Segal with few other top executives were shown an exit door from the social media giant.

As per media reports, Segal and Parag left the San Francisco headquarters of Twitter with no plans of returning.

Other officials leaving the company are Vijaya Gadde, the head of legal, policy and trust, Sean Edgett, who has been general counsel at Twitter since 2012, a media house reported while quoting people familiar with the matter.

Musk said that he acquired Twitter to have a healthy debate platform in future without resorting to violence.

In a social media post by his conservative supporter Dinesh D’Souza stated that a new day is dawning on Twitter and he is in the building. What to be done with two notorious Indians, Parag Agrawal and Vijaya Gadde, he questioned.

“Throw the censors out, keep the chicken tikka masala,” the tweet said.

Ealier, Musk on Thursday reached out to Twitter advertisers through a note and opened up on his decision to acquire it.

Musk told them that it is important for the future civilisation to have one common digital platform where a wide range of beliefs can be discussed in a healthy manner.

“I didn’t do it (acquisition) because it would be easy. I didn’t do it to make more money. I did it to try to help humanity, whom I love,” he said in a note.
