ONGC Appoints Devendra Kumar As New CFO

ONGC appoints Devendra Kumar as new CFO, bringing over 33 years of finance expertise, strategic acumen and extensive experience in both domestic and international operations to the leadership team

The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has announced the appointment of Devendra Kumar as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective immediately. The decision was ratified by the Maharatna company’s Board of Directors on Thursday, June 20. 

Kumar, who joined ONGC in February 1991, holds a management postgraduate degree from IIM Ahmedabad and a degree in electrical engineering. With over 33 years of experience in various finance and accounting roles, Kumar has spent approximately 15 years with ONGC Videsh and has held numerous positions in both onshore and offshore units, including international assignments.

Kumar’s expertise encompasses business development, mergers and acquisitions, strategy and policy, capital budgeting, risk management, investment analysis, treasury, audit and assurance, international business and joint ventures. Prior to his current role, he served as the chief of corporate finance, overseeing commercial, treasury, accounts, taxation, budgeting, project appraisal and financial administration.
