PM Modi Speaks To Russia’s Putin On G-20, Ukraine War

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation on Friday with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO)

PMO in a statement said that both leaders held a talk in the context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Prime Minister Modi reiterated his call for dialogue and diplomacy as the only way forward during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Following up on their meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Samarkand, the two leaders discussed several aspects of their bilateral relationship, including energy cooperation, trade and investment, defence and security cooperation and other key areas.

PM Modi briefed President Putin on India’s current G-20 presidency, emphasising key priorities. He also expressed interest in both countries cooperating during India’s presidency of the SCO. They agreed to keep in touch on a regular basis, PMO said.
