Reliance Industries Is In Talks To Buy FMCG Brands

Experts in this matter told a leading media house that Reliance is in the advanced stage of talks with the three companies.

Reliance Industries is in talks to acquire brands like Lahori Jeera and Bindu Beverages, besides other brands like Garden Namkeen, from CavinKare to strengthen its fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG). Reliance has identified a few brands that can be bought to strengthen the FMCG business.

Experts in this matter told a leading media house that Reliance is in the advanced stage of talks with the three companies. Lahori offers drink variants in flavors like Jeera Lemon, Raw Mango and Shikanji.

The acquisition of more brands in the FMCG sector is in line with the company’s strategy. In all three cases, Reliance is currently negotiating the terms of the deal. Reliance Retail Vendors is the holding company of all retail companies under the Reliance Industries Group.

It is being told that Reliance Industries (RIL), controlled by veteran industrialist and India’s second richest person Mukesh Ambani, has plans to expand the fast growing consumer goods business. In this episode, the company is planning to acquire some FMCG brands.

Recently, the Ambani-led company acquired soft drink brand Campa from Delhi-based Pure Drinks Group for Rs 22 crore. At the same time, during the 45th AGM of Reliance Industries (RIL AGM) on 29 August, Isha Ambani, Director of Reliance Retail, announced her FMCG business plans, said that the company will start its fast-moving consumer goods FMCG business this year.

She had said that I am happy to announce that this year we will launch our fast growing consumer goods business. The objective of this business is to develop and distribute high quality, affordable products that meet the daily needs of every Indian.
