Prime Minister To Launch 12th Installment Under PM-KISAN Scheme On 18 Oct

The government is all set to release Rs 16,000 crore under the 12th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on 17 October. This would be done through direct benefit transfer, expectedly which will benefit 10 crore farmers. This may turn out to be a Diwali bonanza for millions of farmers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be releasing the installment amount on 17 October 2022 while inaugurating the “PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022” at Indian Agricultural Research Institute.

During the last week, media reports said that the government could release the 12th instalment amount within a week.

Official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office said, “In a reflection of the continued commitment of the Prime Minister towards welfare of the farmers, during the event, Prime Minister will release the 12th instalment amount of Rs 16,000 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) through Direct Benefit Transfer. Under the scheme, eligible farmer families are provided a benefit of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each. So far, eligible farmer families have received benefits of more than Rs 2 lakh crore under PM-KISAN,”

Farmers however have often complained about the amount not reaching them caused by several technical glitches. This could possibly be due to issues related to online transfer of installments, according to their pleads.

To ensure smooth transfer of amount, the farmers are required to complete e-KYC formalities. The transfer of amount is made to Aadhar linked bank accounts of farmers.

Also, during the event, the Prime Minister will launch ‘Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Urvarak Pariyojana – One Nation One Fertilizer’ scheme. Within the scheme he would also launching Bharat Urea Bags, Bharat Urea Bags. This will help companies to market fertilizers under the single brand name “Bharat”.
