BSE, NSE To Conduct Muhurat Trading Session On 4th of November This Year
On the occasion of Diwali, Muhurat Trading session this year will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021. The Muhurat trading is a special session of one hour and is a ritual followed by investors since years in the capital markets. The time frame of the session is marked during the most auspicious hour of the day every year and timings of the same are decided by the exchanges.
This year, the pre opening session will begin at 18:00 PM – 18:08 PM and the main session will begin at 18:15 PM – 19:15 PM on Thursday, November 4, 2021. In the previous year, the S&P BSE Sensex ended the session 195 points higher at 43,638, while the Nifty-50 index closed at 12,771, up 51 points.
During the session every year, investors usually add stocks in their portfolio and the session is mostly said to end on a positive note amid buying across the board. However, the volumes on the exchanges are comparitively lower than that of average volumes. Market participants across the country beleive that trading during this period usually turns out beneficial and hence they reserve their bets to be carried out during the session.
The word Muhurat means a favourible particular time frame or period to carry out an important task. Trades executed during the session are similar to the normal trades and there is no change in the working of the exchanges, except for their regular timings. The Muhurat trading day or Diwali is also celebrated as the New Traditional Year in the Hindu calendar.
