Amid the ongoing coal crisis in the country, the central government on Monday issued guidelines to ensure that states do not misuse electricity allocated to them from coal-based power stations of Central PSUs.

The Ministry also sent out directives to the NTPC and Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) to ensure that distribution companies of Delhi get as much as power as requisitioned by them as per their demand. This came after Delhi’s Power Minister Satyendra Jain statement on Monday that the state’s power plants are left with just 2-3 days of stock.

The maximum demand of Delhi was 4536 Mw and 96.2 Million units on October 10. “As per the information received from Delhi DISCOMs, there was no outage on account of power shortage, as the required amount of power was supplied to them,” the power ministry said.
