Nordstrom Inc said that its Chief Financial Officer Anne Bramman will step down in December this year, on 17 October. This came a month after the company in order to stop investors from piling up more than 10 per cent of its shares, adopted a “poison pill”.

The concept of Poison pills means making the takeover more expensive or difficult by diluting ownership stake of a suitor.

The company has started searching a new finance chief, meanwhile, Nordstrom’s senior vice president and chief accounting officer, Michael Maher will hold the position of interim CFO.

Along with Macy’s and Kohl’s Corp, the U.S. upscale retailer upheld its fiscal year outlook on 17 October after reducing its annual earnings forecast in August.

In September, after Mexican peer Liverpool made disclosure of holding 9.9 per cent passive stake in the luxury department store chain, Nordstrom went for “poison pill”
