RVNL Bags Gujarat Metro Rail Corp Project Worth Rs 166 Cr

The project includes designing, installing, supplying, testing and commissioning of ballastless track from Sarthana to Dream city, RVNL stated in a BSE filing

Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL) has bagged a a project worth Rs 166 crore from Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC). The state owned firm gave detailed information about the same in a BSE filing on Thurday.

“Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) – ISC Projects Private Limited JV’ has received LOA (Letter of Acceptance)… for design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of ballastless track from Sarthana to Dream city in elevated and underground sections, including connecting lines to depot along with ballasted/ballastless/ embedded standard gauge track for corridor-1, Surat Metro Rail Project, Phase-1,” RVNL informed in the filing.

The project includes designing, installing, supplying, testing and commissioning of ballastless track from Sarthana to Dream city. This will also include connecting lines to the depot along with ballasted/ballastless/ embedded standard gauge track for corridor-1 for Phase-I of the Surat Metro Rail Project, RVNL stated in a BSE filing.

The project is scheduled to be completed within 22 months. It is expected to be a major boost for the development of Ahmedabad‘s metro rail network and will help in improving the city‘s public transportation system

It may be mentioned that the Rail Vikas Nigam was incorporated in 2003 under the Ministry of Railways to meet the country’s surging rail infrastructural requirements and to implement projects on a fast-track basis.
