Centre Appoints Aramane Giridhar As Defence Secretary, Sanjay Malhotra As New Revenue Secretary

The centre has announced list of new secretaries for various 16 ministries and departments. Various IAS officers would take charge and assume their duties succeeding the previous positions and responsibilities

Sanjay Malhotra appointed as the new revenue secretary by the centre on 19 October.  He is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Rajasthan cadre from 1990 batch. He will assume his services succeeding Tarun Bajaj, who will superannuate at the November end.

Presently, Malhotra is serving as secretary in the Department of Financial Services (DFS) and he will be joining the Revenue Department as an officer on special duty. Also, the centre has announced list of new secretaries for various 16 ministries and departments. 

Aramane Giridhar will hold the position of new defence secretary on succeeding Ajay Kumar on 31 October. He is an IAS of Andhra Pradesh cadre from 1988 batch and currently serving as secretary in the Ministry of Road, transport and Highways (MoRTH).

Manoj Govil is appointed as the new secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. He is an IAS of Madhya Pradesh Cadre from batch 1991. Currently he is serving in his home cadre. 

Tarun Bajaj currently holds additional charge as the secretary corporate affairs ministry. Vivek Joshi, IAS officer from 1989 batch of Haryana cadre, will take charge as secretary in Department of Financial Services. Presently he is Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner, Ministry of Home Affairs. 

Nagendra Nath Sinha, will charge as the new steel secretary on the superannuation of Sanjay Kumar Singh.  He is a 1987 batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre and currently serving as secretary in the Department of Rural Development.

Shailesh Kumar Singh being a IAS of Jharkhand cadre from 1991 batch, will be the new secretary in the Department of Rural Development. Kamran Rizvi will take over as new secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries. He is a 1991 batch IAS of UP cadre.
