Vivek Joshi Becomes The New Financial Services Secretary

Vivek Joshi’s appointment is made succeeding Sanjay Malhotra who is flayed to take over as Revenue Secretary. Prior to his appointment, he was the Registrar General and Census Commissioner under the Ministry of Home Affairs

The senior bureaucrat Vivek Joshi assumed charge as the Secretary of the Department of Financial Services (DFS) under the Ministry of Finance, on 1 November.

Joshi’s appointment is made succeeding Sanjay Malhotra who is flayed to take over as Revenue Secretary. 

Previously, Joshi was the Registrar General and Census Commissioner under the Ministry of Home Affairs. He is an IAS officer of Haryana cadre from 1989 batch.

The role of DFS is to keep a tab on the functioning of banks, financial institutions, insurance companies and the National Pension System.
