The managing editor of WION – World Is One News, Palki Sharma Upadhyay, has resigned from all her post in the organization. After working for the channel for over five years, Sharma has decided to leave. She was the host of the well-liked programs Gravitas and Gravitas Plus.

It is believed the fact that the newsroom and the news product were based on and dependent on one show and one anchor which concerned both Dr. Subhash Chandra, the former chairman of Zee Media, and the new management. The journalist has over 20 years of experience in the field of journalism.

In 2002, she started working as a news anchor for Doordarshan, India’s largest broadcast television network. She later joined Hindustan Times in 2004 and began reporting on social and political topics. She then worked as an anchor and senior editor for 10 years on CNN News 18 where she conducted interviews with well-known national figures.

She hosted several news and talk shows for more than 20 years, conducting interviews with a range of well-known national figures, including cabinet ministers, opposition leaders, corporate executives, social activists, celebrities from various fields, and young achievers. She engaged in real-time online conversations on numerous topics of public interest and current events.

At WION, she has been a pioneer in the coverage of international news. Not only the audiences from all around the world praised her reporting on the current crisis between Russia and Ukraine, but also international leaders like Dr. Igor Polikha, the Ukrainian ambassador to India.
