Tesla shares jumped 4 per cent after the automaker reported stronger-than-expected earnings but shrinking automotive gross margins
The Nasdaq opened higher on Thursday as electric-car maker Tesla topped Wall Street’s profit target, while the S&P 500 and the Dow edged lower. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 144 points, or 0.45 per cent. The S&P 500 fell 0.2 per cent, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.05 per cent.
