UP Govt Hikes DA, DR Rates Of Govt Employees To 38% In The Light Of Diwali

In a couple of days, the nation would be celebrating Diwali festival. Considering the festive season, the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has issued an order increasing the Dearness Allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) of its employees and pensioners. The raise has been made from 34 per cent to 38 per cent and it will be effective from 1 July.

A tweet from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s official handle said, “Keeping in mind the wider interest of the state employees and pensioners/ family pensioner, the UP government has increased the rate of dearness allowance and dearness relief from the present 34 per cent to 38 per cent with effect from 01 July 2022.”

Recently, various other states have hiked the dearness allowance of their employees. On 14 October, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel announced a rise of 5 per cent to 33 per cent in dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees. As per the officials, the increase will benefit nearly 3.80 lakh state government employees.

Also, the Delhi government too hiked DA by 4 per cent of its employees, earlier in October. On the similar lines, Jharkhand cabinet approved a proposal to increase the DA for state government employees and DR for its pensioners by 4 per cent on 10 October, effective from 1 July.
