Bharati Das Becomes New Controller General of Accounts

The Controller General of Accounts (CGA) is ‘the Principal Advisor’ on accounting and extends its services on related matters to the Union Government.  Das served as the Principal Chief Controller of Accounts (Pr. CCA) Central Board of Direct Taxes, Pr. CCA Ministry of External Affairs, Pr. CCA Ministry of Home Affairs and CCA

The finance ministry said that Civil Accounts Service officer Bharati Das took charge as the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) under the Department of Expenditure, on 18 October. Das is the 27th officer appointed for the position of CGA. 

Previously, Das served as the Principal Chief Controller of Accounts (Pr. CCA) Central Board of Direct Taxes, Pr. CCA Ministry of External Affairs, Pr. CCA Ministry of Home Affairs and CCA, Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Director, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Ministry of Port, Shipping & Waterways.

The Controller General of Accounts (CGA) is ‘the Principal Advisor’ on accounting and extends its services on related matters to the Union Government. 

The responsibility for establishing and managing a technically sound Management Accounting System in on CGA. And it prepares and submits the accounts of the Union government. Also, the responsibility for exchequer control and internal audits for the central Government falls in CGA.
