Dow Jones CFO Resigns After 16 Month Stint: Reports

Dow Jones Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Liz O’Melia has left the organisation after serving in the position for roughly 16 months, as reported by media. News Corp unit Dow Jones, which owns the Wall Street Journal, has begun the search for a new CFO after O’Melia resigned “a few weeks ago”, it added.

O’Melia joined Dow Jones in May of last year after serving as CFO at S&P Ratings. The change occurs only days after CEO of activist hedge fund Starboard Value Jeff Smith stated that News Corp.

Before Rupert Murdoch, 92, announced on September 21 that he would stand down as chairman, leaving his son Lachlan as the only chair, Starboard started amassing a stake in News Corp throughout the summer, the reports added.
