Infosys Is Not Currently Looking For Campus Recruitment: CFO Nilanjan Roy

The CEO and MD Salil Parekh also stated the company is carrying inefficiencies in its staff pyramid and has room to tighten utilisation to 84-85 per cent

The company is not currently looking to recruit new campus hires, according to CFO Nilanjan Roy, who pointed to a sizeable fresher bench that is being trained on Gen AI. “According to our assessment, we are not likely to visit colleges this year to recruit,” he stated. However, we’ll need to monitor the situation every three months, he continued.

Infosys will not be recruiting on college campuses because the second-largest Indian IT services company still has a “significant fresher bench” despite a drop in demand in important countries like the US this year.

The CEO and MD Salil Parekh also stated the company is carrying inefficiencies in its staff pyramid and has room to tighten utilisation to 84-85 per cent during the post-result press conference on Thursday.

India’s 1.5 million engineering graduates per year are typically employed in the IT services sector. However, because of a sluggish deal pipeline and persisting concerns about a US recession, businesses are reportedly intending to reduce their employment of new employees.
