All CIL Subsidiaries Need To Achieve Annual Targets: Pralhad Joshi

Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi said that in order to meet the coal requirements of our country, all subsidiaries of Coal India Ltd (CIL) necessarily will have to achieve their annual targets, on 13 October.
He said to build India as a self-reliant country in the coal sector, it is absolutely necessary to boost the existing mining work and initiate new projects.
“In order to meet the coal requirements of the country, it is necessary that all CIL subsidiaries achieve their annual targets,” said Joshi according to the release.
According to the release, the minister also chaired a review meeting and took note of the stock of the production, productivity and coal dispatch status of WCL.
Chairman-cum-Managing Director of WCL Manoj Kumar briefed the minister about coal mining activities in the company and gave assurance of company achieving the production target by the year-end.

The minister visited Western Coalfields Ltd headquarters in Nagpur and attended various programmes. Western Coalfields Ltd (WCL) is one of the eight subsidiary companies of CIL, a central Public Sector Unit.
