Coal Production Hits 75.87 MT In November 2022
The ministry reported that out of top 37 coal producing mines, as many as 24 mines produced more than 100 per cent and production of five mines stood between 80 and 100 per cent
India’s total coal production increased by 11.66 per cent to 75.87 million ton (MT) from 67.94 during November 2022 compared to November 2021, the ministry of coal said on Wednesday.
Latest estimates from the ministry of coal for November 2022 showed that Coal India registered a growth of 12.82 per cent while Singareni Collieries Company and captive/other mines registered a growth of 7.84 per cent and 6.87 per cent respectively.
The ministry reported that out of top 37 coal producing mines, as many as 24 mines produced more than 100 per cent and production of five mines stood between 80 and 100 per cent.
Despatches to power utilities also increased by 3.55 per cent in November 2022 to 62.34 MT compared to 60.20 MT the previous year.
Coal based power generation also registered a growth of 16.28 per cent in November 2022 compared to last year.
The ministry also informed that overall power generation in November 2022 was up 14.63 per cent compared to last year.
