Meesho Joins ONDC, First Pilot Launch In Bangalore

Meesho, an internet commerce startup, announced through a press release that it joined the government’s Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) initiative, the company on 23 November.

Bangalore will witness the pilot launch initially and later it will be rolled out in other locations in coming months.

Along with this integration, Meesho’s aim is to help connect buyers with hyperlocal sellers and contribute to creating an inclusive e-commerce ecosystem, said the company in the release.

The founder and CEO of Meesho, Vidit Aatrey, said that in order to empower small sellers and give a fillip to hyperlocal businesses, to democratize internet commerce for everyone , this integration will act as a boost to our efforts.

Highlighting, how ONDC too will play crucial role in expanding India’s e-commerce sector by bringing more consumers online, he said that Meesho has been working closely with ONDC to make sure that the user experience remains seamless and the integration is smooth.

The CEO of ONDC, T Koshy commenting on Meesho’s debut said that the company is pleased to onboard Meesho. Its deep capabilities in small towns will create the network flywheel in motion and take ONDC closer to goals.
