upGrad To Launch 10 Campuses Globally With 30 Mn Dollar Investment Next Year

upGrad, a higher education platform, announced an investment of 30 million dollar to open 10 global campuses in the US, India and other regions in the coming year, on 7 November.
The company said that it will open three new campuses in the US (at the San Francisco unit goes live in January), five in India (Delhi and Chennai) and one each in Singapore and Middle-East, under a new brand name ‘UGDX’.
The co-founder and chairperson, upGrad. Ronnie Screwvala said that this is a a natural extension as a part of our goal in order to be the world’s first and largest fully integrated higher edtech company.
The company is spanning for college learners and working professionals from the age of 18 to 60 years and more. This step after the company decided to move to a hybrid mode consisting both offline and online model under the upGrad brand, he added.
Presently, the company operated facilities in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
Under ‘UGDX,’ upGrad is planning to conduct faculty recruitments at various geographies along with use of technology to seamlessly integrate campuses, faculty, and corporates within one ecosystem.
Areas of specialisations under ‘UGDX’ will be AI (Artificial Intelligence), machine learning, cybersecurity, Blockchain, connected devices, IoT, quantum computing, digital management, leadership courses and the Cloud, offering certificates, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral and other programmes in these areas.
Recently, ‘UGDX’ made acquisition of data science, AI, ML-focused offline institute ‘INSOFE’.
The founder and CEO, upGrad INSOFE, Dr Dakshinamurthy Kolluru said that Along with real-world experiences from day one, rich engagements with industry connections will boost the learners too. As compared to other traditional programs, All our programs at ‘UGDX’ consists of at least twice the number of capstones and project work.
Kolluru will also be heading the ‘UGDX’. Along with having a learner base of around three million across the globe with more than 100 countries upGrad has partnered with over 300 university.
