Phoenix Group CFO Rakesh Thakrar Resigns
Phoenix will appoint former Abrdn CFO Stephanie Bruce as interim group CFO next month
Phoenix, a savings and retirement firm, has announced that its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will step down later this year after serving for four years.
Rakesh Thakrar joined the company in 2001 and has held various positions of strategic and financial responsibilities, including deputy CFO since 2014 before being appointed to group CFO in 2020.
Thakrar is said to have played an important role in the acquisitions that helped Phoenix become the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement business, including the 2020 purchase of life and pensions provider ReAssure and last year’s merger of Sun Life Financial Of Canada UK.
